For many years the LORD has laid on my heart to encourage and urge HIS people to read more of HIS WORD, accompanied by in-depth study, meditation, prayer and praise of HIM. This has been and will continue to be for many reasons.
We should go into our reading with the quest of seeking HIS face, gaining an understanding of who HE is in us and who we are in HIM. Seeking HIS SPIRIT, to bring about the transforming power of CHRIST that dwells in us. Enabling our fellowship, and service unto HIM. Bringing about a change inside us that develops our maturity and our earnest plea to walk in HIS love, capturing HIS heart as our very own. Seeing that it is not about us and what we want, but our purpose is to be the eager pursuit of HIS presence and the unselfish willingness to fulfill HIS purposes not only in our lives but in the communities and world which we live.
When we read the bible or just listen to a pastor, without incorporating prayer, study, meditation and praise. Seeking GODS face and knowledge of how something works into our personal relationships with him, we reduce the word of GOD into a religion, into a book of promises without realizing and being convicted of the truth. What is the truth? HIS WORD says to seek first HIS kingdom and HIS righteousness and all things will be added to us.
Mat 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Mat 6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
And if we look at just the promise of abundance (to name only one thing), we fail to see the true meaning of HIS sufficient supply toward us. And we allow our selfishness to abound and take root.
2Co 9:6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he
which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
2Co 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
2Co 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all
sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
2Co 9:9 (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.
2Co 9:10 Now he that ministereth seed to the sower both minister bread for your food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;)
2Co 9:11 Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.
GOD gave us HIS WORD so that we would not have to trust our own thought process. HE gave it to us so that we would be able to seek HIS heart and mind as our very own, creating a peculiar people that truly is set aside for HIS good works. As HIS WORD says seek and you will find!
There is no person that can remove our personal need of and requirement of seeking HIS kingdom first, no person can teach us HIS WORD, only HIS SPIRIT can reveal to us HIS ways and will. Each teacher and minister is to encourage our own personal relationship and knowledge of who GOD is in us, there is absolutely no generic call or anointing from GOD for us. We are all individuals that has been created to fellowship with HIM, that has a distinct purpose to be fulfilled in our lives and the world which we live. So I encourage all who read this to be active in our pursuit of HIM in us, that HIS face always be looking upon us and guiding our steps in HIS purposes and not our own.
