Today I need a carpenter
to heal my wooden heart
its splintered and is derelict
and fallen so apart
Do you know a carpenter
To carve and file away
with loving gentle caring hands
to mend my heart today
Send me to this carpenter
that he may craft and carve
to blend the forlorn pieces
to join the broken halves
I look for you my carpenter
to polish and to sand
and bring this heart to life again
with truly gifted hands
I found him now my carpenter
in words from yellowed pages
with proven words his workmanship
shall last throughout the ages
Book me in my carpenter
and while you craft away
I shall bend down on my knees
and at your feet shall pray
I'm healing now my carpenter
shall no longer fall apart
Now loving healing sealing hands
have touched upon my heart
Thank you oh great carpenter
for seeing my hearts pain
for mending it with love and hope
to never break again
Your calling card my carpenter
was here but from the start
I only had to call your name
to feel it cross my heart
