Hey let me tell you something that struck my mind of late. In our everyday lives we work, we rest and we work more and in the evening we sleep. But is this all there is no. I sit down at times in the quiet nights and listen to my heart beat and I wonder what if for two minutes it skipped a beat. Well suffice to say I would be history in the world but everlasting in eternity. It is that simple let me break it down.
When we work the whole day and get home we just collapse under fatigue and we almost nearly never reflect on our life from spiritual perspective. Yet this is what the devil wants, one thing about salvation I like is even when am tired after hard days work I sit on my bed with all the fatigue and I ask the Messiah am I living it (Salvation). Or am I drifting from you Christ. On the other hand not having Christ in a person’s life is walking through life like a man in a raft in midst ocean seas. The only problem is in life is unlike in the oceans where you can see the wave coming to hit you, life has no warning signals. You can never know the surprise life will throw at you next minute.
One of the worst risks in life is to never have a moment of spiritual reflection. Christ gives our soul rest. The devil blinds our spiritual man from seeing the real dangers that can put us in a position for eternal separation from GOD. The real dangers mean everywhere we go we have our souls in us. When we are at the subway, watching our kids’ soccer practice our immortal souls are chained to our mortal bodies that is what makes us alive. Have that ever struck or you are in denial not being overweight but we are just a missed heart beat away from eternity.
One thing I learnt was when I got saved was everywhere I went without Christ, be it in church or some sinful dinghy dungeons I had my soul in me. Also I realized that your soul is not something you can leave at your house to be safe as you venture into sinful dangerous club scenes or drinking sprees. Your soul is with you all time. You can’t dictate to your soul like “hey I am going to a risky place today why don’t I leave you at home so that if am shot at or a ruffian hits me on the stomach with a broken beer bottle I won’t die.” No it does not happen reason being when GOD created us HE made a body and soul. You cannot separate that which is why the Bible is very clear about sin it leads to death.
There is a reason everyone needs Christ, and HIS saving grace. When one asks the Lord Jesus as Savior a person is simply putting his mortal soul to eternal rest and in such a case, no born again believer should be scared when he lives his everyday life because no matter what the devil throws to harm or even kill his’ flesh, the devil cannot ever have or harm a soul of a believer because it is under the guard of the Lion Of The Tribe Of Judah Jesus Christ.
As I said earlier on the raft in a calm sea, even for a sinner GOD Jehovah in HIS unfathomable knowledge has placed in every person a raft called reflection. It involves sitting down at a quiet time and through on our life each day and look at the sky and marvel at that it did not just happen, an Architect of Ages was behind it. When a man is in a raft at mid-oceans he knows anything can happen and he can drown, so he has a plan to either radio for help, or wave at a passing ship on the other hand the man can ignore those factors and in pride think he needs nobody’s help so even when he is drowning he calls no one for help because of pride. That is what spiritual reflection is to a person it opens every man born again or not spiritual eyes. This makes a man realize that in living outside the Person of Jesus Christ is like being in an ocean which one time is calm the next it’s swallowing up ships.
Reflection is that very small soul saving technique that warns us that even if you are walking from home to work like a normal routine each day it is not as calm and sunny as it seems. Like a calm sea is interrupted by waves, that is what happens when an accident or a terror attack disrupts a normal peaceful day in a city. This brings us to a point of thinking since we all have souls in us are they rested by the Savior Christ such that in case our time comes to face death we are sure we are that are just a missed heart beat away to spending eternal time with the Prince of peace Jesus Christ. Then if not and you are reading this article stop real fast, and reflect on what you just read and get on your knees and call on Jesus Christ to save you from eternal death. This way you are sure your immortal soul is forever unbound from eternal death and like Nicole Sponberg Smith sings in her song “safe” you will be able to sing I will be safe wherever I go. Or if you an old soul you will sing “Thanks, thanks I give you thanks for all you have done, I am so glad my soul is at rest oh Lord I give you thanks.”
As I conclude I want to ask you if you have trusted Christ Jesus to give you a daily breath a process you take for granted then trust HIM to be your Savior.
After having communicated to you on all that I want to leave you with verses to cap all what I have written from Isaiah 1:19 if you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land. Means Christ has blessing waiting for you. And if you are obedient Christ says to you from Isaiah 3:10 Say to the righteous that it shall be well with them.
