He's Been Preparing Me for You
Then, my Love, I would have been only half as good for you, with all my damaged structure. But now, I’ve been made new.
The storms of life tossed me about. My masts were torn and stained. But when I cried, I cried out “Lord!” And my God, as thus, proclaimed:
“Look at your foundation, the foundation that was laid, and see what I, the Lord, have done, the price for you I paid! Though your journey has been long, and your sails have suffered too, this, My beloved daughter, I give graciously unto you -- a promise of restoration. On My Word, you can depend. Take shelter in Me for eternity. Every broken place, I mend.”
I’d almost given up, wavering in my faith for you. But my Father spoke so clearly, “Is there anything I can’t do?” So I cast my net once more, into the Waters deep. And those Waters bring unto me, even as I sleep, visions of a threefold cord -- upon the Rock I firmly stand, with the strength of a mighty eagle, holding tight your hand. And there, on my other side, is the Lover of My Soul, smiling that knowing smile of a promise long ago, a restoration promise, a preparation of me for you. Tell me, Love, is there anything, anything at all that God can’t do?
I look at my foundation and its strength is beyond compare. Mine and My First Love’s home is carved with beauty rare. Our walls are cut from fir. Polished cedar graces our stairs. And gentle scents of mercy permeate the air.
Don’t give up; He’s almost done with the repairs He’s had to do. He’s almost done preparing me to be perfectly made for you, to be bone of your bone, and flesh of your flesh, so our lives, in harmony, can perfectly intermesh. I can't say that it's been easy. But He's thorough, you can be sure. He's given me a heart of flesh, full of love so rare and pure.
Don’t give up on us, my Love. I haven’t given up on you. I know. I know. I know there’s no thing that My First Love cannot do.
