I AM Waiting
Where does one go,
when pleas and petitions crumble like clotted dust?
When disappointment turns hope,
into sludge of despair,
Where does one go from there?
What does one do,
when reason escapes and snatches the last breath of faith?
When questions oppress,
and spiral their doubts,
What does one do right now?
How can one love,
when bitterness clings to a heart crushed under its weight?
When trust loses way,
and wanders alone,
How can one bear to love?
Who can survive,
Sorrow’s darkest night buried beneath its pain?
When anguish holds fast,
and shakes its fist,
Who can survive to live?
Why do we stumble,
why do we fall, on the straight and narrow road?
Lying there broken,
wounded and torn,
Why do we cry, ‘No more!’?
Lord, I need to know, where do I go?
My heart no longer mends.
He whispered clear, so I could hear,
through the veil of bitter winds.
The Cross My child,
rest there awhile, where cleansing waters flow.
Drink of His pain,
taste of His sorrow,
The Cross my child, now go.
The Cross dear heart,
lay it bare, where gentle waters flow.
Bask in His Mercy,
breathe of His Grace,
The Cross dear heart, don’t wait.
The Cross My love,
I AM waiting, where healing waters flow.
I’ll bathe your wounds,
I’ll cool your brow,
Come unto Me … My love.
