What an intricate fabric in
this pattern called life.
Sometimes filled with joy,
sometimes filled with strife.
Each piece of the pattern,
placed in the great design
My Father knew all along,
just what He had in mind.
Not knowing myself where
to place each piece.
I took control not knowing
that I would have no peace!
Thinking when I was younger
how I planned my life to be
With all the great adventures
but it changed very quickly, you see.
The pieces of fabric
that I began to choose
were dark and foreboding
realizing that I would only lose.
Life began to happen
I had pushed Him out of the way.
Being tossed about on the water,
feeling life slipping away.
Crying out to God with what
seemed to be my last breath..
Take control Father, for
you know what is best.
I gave Him every piece
that I seemed to have ruined.
As He touched the fabric
and turned them to new ones.
The colors became brighter
gone was the shame and guilt.
So remember when life gives you scraps,
Let God make your quilt.
