“At the end of that time, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven, and my sanity was restored” (Daniel 4:34).
Worry. Doubt. Fear. Dread. These are common emotions many of us face on a regular basis, on one level or another. Most often, those emotions are a result of an overemphasis on self. The unfortunate thing is, even as Christians, it is easy to keep our eyes on ground level, and when we do, it is normal to feel discouraged, and at times, even like we are losing our minds. Nebuchadnezzar discovered the secret to restored sanity – he raised his eyes toward heaven.
What are you looking at today? Are you focused on your problems and circumstances? Obviously, we do have to face the situations in our lives; they most often don’t just go away if we ignore them. But when we lift our eyes toward heaven, we gain God’s perspective, and even more importantly, His help.
Keep looking up!
