The heart's desire of Christ the Son...
To bring His Father glory!
"Not my will but Thine be done..."
His prayer, His life, His joy.
The Father's will led Jesus down
A path of grief and shame,
Til on a cross was left to die
Though innocent of blame.
"Why hast Thou forsaken me?"
O hear His anguished cry!
See Him drink the bitter cup
Then bow His head and die.
But Sunday morning came at last,
A dawn so fair and sweet.
The Son in glory raised again!
The Father's will complete.
With life ahead and death behind
Heaven's Crown He claims.
Now He calls to all mankind,
"There's victory through my Name!"
"Come follow Me," the Son implores.
"Fear not thy cross to bear.
Thy death, like Mine, shall be a door
To joy beyond compare.
'Tis safe! I've been that way before...
My resurrection share!"
