Marriage
Today I walked by what used to be a vacant lot all overgrown, but now the grass was all trampled down, someone had bought it, now it was owned.
No more the neglected look it had, there were busy people everywhere, footings had been dug, the foundation built, block upon block with such care.
Now you could tell it was to be a house, the wooden floors were now begun
and soon the walls would be going up, working with deliberate speed till it would be done.
It made me think of how I was, before Jesus came into my life, my heart was a wasteland of neglect and mistrust, no comfort there, just trouble and strife.
Till the day I met the Master builder, the One who could transform me, and He gently asked if I would be His, and he would set my lonely heart free.
I hardly believed it, but how my heart responded, somehow I could trust that it was true, and I said 'yes' to Jesus that day, and He showed me right there what He could do.
The wasteland that had been my heart was transformed, His beauty was there, and all the trouble and pain and strife, was cleared out, I was His, He would not share.
And each day since, He builds on that foundation, and His plan started to come into view, and suddenly joy filled every room, the day that I met you!
For that was His plan, to make me complete, to give me a love to share, to learn to give as well as receive, all the gifts that He would place in my care.
Jesus was the firm foundation, the walls we would create anew, the house we would build would be done with love, one just big enough for us two.
Now every day we add a little more to the heart-houses that we nurture each day, and each hour brings just a little more beauty, to this place where we live, love and pray.
I am so thankful that Jesus found me, and transformed my life, made it new,
and most of all I am so filled with happiness, that He gave me the gift of love in you!
