The fruit of God's love
The Spirit imparts.
'Tis holy and pure
And comes from His heart.
Love rejoices in truth,
Love is patient and still.
Love seeks not her own
But the Father's good will.
Love forgives all,
Keeps no record of wrong.
She conquers all evil
And offers a song.
Love comforts the hurting,
The downcast she lifts,
Gives all that she has...
'Tis the greatest of gifts!
PEACE
The blessed fruit of peace
Is beautiful and rare.
She conquers all conflict
In her closet of prayer...
Like the dove taking flight
Leaves behind every care.
She strives not with God's will,
In acceptance abides,
Is clothed in contentment
With thanksgiving by her side...
For praise is the language
Of the Lamb's holy bride!
O Prince of Peace, by thine hand I am blest.
In thy presence alone shall I find perfect rest.
JOY
Peace has a sister,
These two shall not part.
Her music is laughter,
Her soul a merry heart.
She lends you her strength
Every difficult mile.
So lift up thy head!
Dare to smile!
This fruit overcomes
Despair and all sorrow.
Fear not thy tears...
Joy comes tomorrow!
