In humble obedience King Jesus stepped down
From His heavenly palace, His throne and His crown
To be born of a virgin in Bethlehem town...
What joy! A Savior is born.
He fed the hungry with fish and bread
Blessed the children, raised the dead
I am the resurrection and life, He said...
O how the Savior lived!
He caused a cripple man to walk
The blind to see, the dumb to talk
Turn the other cheek, He taught...
Behold the Savior's love!
Remove this cup, pled the Holy One
Yet, not my will but Thine be done
Father, forgive them, cried the Son...
O hear the Savior pray!
Despised, rejected, weary and worn
Nailed to a tree with a crown of thorns
Our guilt and sorrow He has surely borne...
See how the Savior suffered!
Mercy and judgment at Calvary meet
Jesus was bleeding, O hear Mary weep
The law was now satisfied, God's will complete...
Alas, the Savior died!
A new dawn now breaks on a world of despair
Love, joy and hope seem to waft through the air
He is risen from the dead, an angel declared...
Hallelujah, the Savior lives!
He rose to the Father, His victory to claim
Gone are our sorrows, our guilt and our shame
For salvation and mercy are ours through His Name...
Jesus, my Savior and Lord!

Linda - Another beautiful poem you have penned. This is my favorite verse: "He rose to the Father, His victory to claim.
Gone are our sorrows, our guilt and our shame.
For salvation and mercy are ours through His Name...
Jesus, my Savior and Lord!" Keep writing. In His Love,
Julia
