like the eagle -
feeling weightless
and unencumbered,
having a more objective
viewpoint on life.
I'd like to sit on mountain peaks
like the eagle -
just for a little while,
above the insanity
of the world,
resting in peacefulness.
I'd like to have precise vision
like the eagle -
so I can perceive with clarity
all that is around me,
and avoid needless
struggle and strife.
I'd like to have character
like the eagle -
simple and strong,
wise and fearless,
recognizing that
in its fierce beauty,
it exists to honor its maker.
