On the right track
Today,my parents and i drove to a lovely place where there were no real roads, just dirt tracks and untouched scenery. My Mum had her walking guide book with her,so we decided to do a circular walk.
After a while, all being well and cheerfull,we took a path that we were unsure of because of an unclear direction(that's my excuse!)My Dad began to get uneasy, and spotting another family who happened to have the same walk book, suggested instantly that we should follow them.In spite of my Mum's protest(and i just kept my mouth shut),we ended up drifting in their direction and before we knew it,we were lost.To my Dad's dismay, the other family were also lost!I held the idea in mind that if i have an speck of faith,God would direct us back to the right path.We came across an old dirt track, and i marched along it faithfully, and guess what! Not only were we out of the woods in seconds, but we were further on the map than we'd hoped. We suddenly remembered the family that were also lost, and we said a sort of prayer in the hope they would get safely back too.
Life is very strange in many ways, but one of them is that there are unlimited ammounts of meanings and lessons we can relate to as being 'like life'This lesson is an obvious one to relate to ourselves spiritually. The simple ones seem to be the best.As we travel through life,we can sometimes forget where we are supposed to be going, dispite the guide book of spiritual direction and warnings. When we forget about the guide,we lose sight of the author, which leaves us alone, and unsure of our abilities. We can often make the same mistake my Dad made,by looking to others and trusting their abilities.(he won't hear the end of this for weeks)Maybe we give others too much credit when we doubt ourselves.Instead of looking to God,we look at them and in comparison to our self doubt, they appear more compitent, yet they too may be just as lost,or even following you!We need to refer back to our spiritual walking map, which will tell us exactly where we are, where to go and where to avoid.Again, without faith in the one who wrote it,there is no point in the journey at all.We need the faith to say, boldly,'The Lord will help us 'out of the woods'and even if He doesn't,we will trust Him still, for there will be a reason.'(look at Daniel chpt3 v 16-18)Thankyou Lord for putting us back on the right track, physically and spiritually.(read psalms 119 v35)
