A friend insists on taking her husband to a certain seafood restaurant
because they advertise, "The best place for crabs."
How many names of extinct automobiles do you remember? I suspect
that the number is directly proportional to your age. How about names
like Whippet, Franklin, Willys Knight, Terraplane, Hupmobile or more
recent ones like Hudson, Packard, DeSoto and Studebaker? There are
scores upon scores. Every one of them was someone's dream
Have you had dreams that have gone up in smoke? Sometimes they
leave bitter memories, and other times we can look back and say, "It
was just as well." In either case, our nostalgic reference should have
taught us some lesson in life. If we don't learn something positive from
our failures, we wasted a good mistake.
Psalm 34:2 (nlt), "I will boast only in the Lord; let all who are
discouraged take heart." Maybe we can't brag about some past
successes or lack of them, but we can brag about the Lord. Sharing His
love with someone else takes the dis out of discouragement.
