I walk the banks of this old creek I once called home,
Where time escapes me, moments last
and with my thoughts, I am finally alone.
I stand before a rushing flow,
where my senses sharpen still.
I hear the wings of a Great Blue Heron
and the distant call of a Whippoorwill.
My soul, it surges with unexplained joy
in this world known only to few.
For the gift of creation that God has bestowed,
fills my heart with pleasure renewed.
All around me are sounds, words can barely describe, the sweet music of God’s earthly choir.
Where the whispers of leaves blend in pure harmony.
It is here, where I’m truly inspired.
Thank you Lord for the blessings you have given me here ,
for the way you allow nature to speak.
Thank you God for the memories that are etched in my heart on the banks of the Old Torpey Creek.
