Great is our Reward
I have recently read the book of Job.At a really low moment,(chapt21,from verse7)Job
is complaining that there are people who reject God in their lives, and yet they appear to
be blessed with riches, while remaining hassle free. But things are not quite as they seem
when we consider the big picture.
In order for us to posess free will,God knew that we would need the freedom of complete
choice-if only man had not made that choice to listen to evil. But since he did choose it
it remains, and therefore must have it's day. It's as if man opened a floodgate, and now,
it must run it's course.
So,we now have a choice-one or the other, and no in betweens will do.Suddenly, freedom of
choice can be a burden as well. One or the other-what else could be so simple and yet so
complicated at the same time!
Alot of people too,are choosing to 'have a ball'now, and ignore what is to come later.
But we do have to have trials, and it helps to be prepared for them-we are told to expect
them-especially from the world, and it's response to our faith in Jesus, because most people
just want their moment now, while we wait in hope.Like storing up for the winter,as God's
word tells us,we can think ahead, knowing exactly why we are going through these battles.
Surely this is why we are taught the tools of patience, and endurance-DON'T GET
DISHEARTENED!Because we are forewarned from God,we can rejoice and thank him when these
inevitable trials come up-He assured we'd have them and said why-all is then going to His
plan. It's a privilege to have trials then! The harder the trial, the healthier the blessing.
And,if bad times are a blessing,then they're not 'bad'are they!(They are certainly a
challenge of our strength)
God wants us to reap our rewards in the next life, because by then, the battle will have
been fought and won, evil will be no more, and we can enjoy His victory in His time and place.
So eyes on the prize, joy cometh in the morning, and great will be the victory! And remember
if the world hates you,you could be doing something right!
