I wonder if some people would be happier if the ten commandments
were multiple choice and you could pick any eight.
What cheers you? For some people it may take a lot but for others it
doesn't take much. Some folks are just naturally cheerful while others
are naturally negative, and that's a shame. Just ask yourself, "Which
type of person do others percieve me as being." If it's the negative type,
can I change my image?
By the grace of God you can change, but it may not be easy -- you'll
have to really work at it. Negativity becomes a syndrome -- a way of
life, but the cycle can be broken if you are serious about doing it. Any
habit is difficult to break, but it can be done. God will do His part if
you'll do yours.
In 2 Cor. 13:11 (nlt), Paul closes his letter with these words. "Dear
brothers and sisters, I close my letter with these last words: Rejoice.
Change your ways. Encourage each other. Live in harmony and peace.
Then the God of love and peace will be with you." So how do you
change your ways? You start by rejoicing -- by being grateful for what
you are and have, but you need to start.
