I have embraced the footsteps of change
and found that time is essential for lives rearranged.
Too long depression has kept me from enjoying contentment
while regret tore through my soul with resentment.
Loving-kindness has brought me to the other side of pain
as I was led to the Savior through undeniable strain.
I fought change because fear grounded my feet
to the pavement of life’s familiar streets.
I’ve chosen to embrace the change Christ gives
because He has restored confidence I wish to live.
I am finished fighting what I don’t understand
so I can benefit from His grace walking hand in hand.
