The Abundant Life
For thousands of years people have been trying to reach God in there own way. Worshipping the sun, the moon, the stars, making gods out of all the things in life they seemed to have no control over; all in an attempt to appease a power greater than themselves. All the while The Living God had already showed Himself to a tiny nation called Israel. Infact, before the world was formed God had a plan and it included Israel. God also has a plan for you.
God is a benevolent God. He provided mankind with a beautiful place to live. He created man in His own image. God is Spirit and He made mankind to be living spirits. Unlike all the other living things on earth, man has a spirit that will live on even after death.
God left man in the garden of His creation and instructed man as to what His will was. God does not force anyone to do anything. God did not force the first man, Adam; to follow His instructions. God gave Adam the freedom to choose what he would do. Eventually another one of God's creations, an angel; became jealous of man's relationship with God and wanted to cause a rift between God and man. The first man and women fell for the lie of the enemy of our souls, Lucifer or Satan. They disobeyed the command of God. From the beginning of mankind, Lucifer was wrong about God. It is no wonder that he still is. The original sin did not bring a permanent rift between God and man but rather; it brought about the occasion for God to show His love to us. Yes, mankind has suffered the results of sinning against the Living God. Because of it we all die a physical death. Because of it we all were/are spiritually dead. But God had a plan.
In the Bible we read in Genesis about the account of man's sin. Genesis 3:15 gives us the initial promise of a Savior. "And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." The seed of the woman was referring to Jesus the Messiah. In God's plan He would send His only begotten Son to be the sacrifice that would pay for the sin of the world. (John 1:29) Jesus was an Israelite. He was born of a virgin who was a Jew and the man who was His step father was a Jew. If you study the lineage of Jesus you find that He is a direct descendant of David the great king of Israel. So God used Israel in His plan for the redemption of the world. He gave Israel the Law which showed them, and those who would hear; what sin is. The Bible is a record of how God dealt with man and also a record of how man has dealt with God, and the consequences. As I already stated, Jesus was a Jew. But He was more than just a Jew. He was God in the form of a man. For thousands of years Satan has tried keep people from believing this awesome truth. The truth that God came to save mankind. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." (John 3:16,17)
Through Jesus the Messiah you might be saved. "The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." The thief is Satan. He wants to keep you from believing.
Jesus came to give you abundant life. Believe on Jesus and you shall be saved.
