So many years of pain and confusion
Locked up inside my heart
I shut in my confusion, let no one in
Thinking that would help, but the pain never left.
But now I opened the door into my heart
I allowed the wound to be reopened
The terrible pain was now exposed
I let my heart bleed again, I let my tears flow.
Then from heaven came blood drops into my opened wound
Jesus’ blood washed out the dirt and stones of the past
Then His blood anointed me and I began to heal
Oh, it hurt afresh, but now I’ve begun to heal.
With the pain being washed away
Now my heart has begun to sing
I’ve found new joy, I fear no more
Oh now I’m free, I’m finally free at last!
