Under the Democrats, man exploits man. Under the Republicans,
it's just the reverse -- think about it. Either because of or in spite
of them, it's still a great country.
What do you remember from your youth that is now totally
obsolete? My list includes telegraph, ticker tape machines (that
made Edison a lot of money), darning socks (you younger ones
are saying, "what is that?") wire carpet beaters, milk delivered in
bottles, and on and on. You surely have your own list
"Things" come and go. That's why we have museums. But one
set of things never becomes obsolete -- the fruit of the Spirit as
listed in Gal. 5:22 (niv), "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy,
peace, patience (that's a tough one), kindness, goodness,
faithfulness, gentleness and self control." Whew, that gives us a
lot to work on, doesn't it. The first three are internal, but the last
six are all things that affect our relationships with others. All of
those items, however, are traits that the true child of God should
want to display.
If these things are fruit, then they should be a natural outgrowth
of our daily walk with the Lord. Fruit grows -- so should we.
Let's all have a growth spurt today.
