Publishing God’s Wisdom and proclaiming His kingdom

Extract from God and men’s pains

Who can guarantee world without problems and life without some interruptions? Who can guarantee the continuous flowing of stream without an obstacle? Inventions crop up lots of problems. who can put busy enemy into check – you may say your prayer will, yes, but what about your neighbours who are sinners, if affected, you have a share of their troubles.

There are two extreme assumptions by some set of believers; both are based on ignorance of what the scripture says. Some set compass on the extreme side of believers’ perpetual suffering while the other on “vacuum faith” they often solicit for expulsion of messages treating believers interruption or ordeal as they argue with ignorant concept “Negative messages should not be allowed in church’s pulpit”. but they are ignorant of Christ teachings, I suggest they better check out.

Such often throws their Bible away accusing God of disappointing them. I once had a Christian friend/counsellor, who dumped his Bible because of failure in one of his subjects, while I was in the high school. After some attempts, he could not meet the requisite for the college and he puts all the blames on God; he left the Lord He has preached much to us about.

God never once promised any one a storm free life or perpetual feather-plucking situations. The Bible scholar said that there are 365 “Fear not” in the scripture. I think this should puzzle us. Why should such statement occur in God’s word so frequently? God knew there would be highly scaring situations but “Fear not”. I wonder why there should be promises of provision, protection, promotion, prosperity and preservation. if there will not be scarcity, dangerous situations, lack, demotion and poverty. He made available provision to raise up a standard that will place his children above the board of disgrace and shame.

God called the pilgrims out of the bondage and they must pass through the wilderness before the Canaan land. Between the bondage and the Promised Land, there was wilderness of temptation, persecution, trials and test. He deliberately led them in the wilderness way. “And it came to pass, when pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not though the way of the philistines although that was near, for God said, lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt, but God led the people about through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea. Ex.13:17-18.

God knew all they must face and what to do at every stage of need. God has not promised them Canaan without wilderness. Neither has he promised peace without pain. He has not promised victory without war, or success without necessary problems, confrontation and challenges. God has not promised, Annie Johnson flint wrote in his song

God hath not promised skies always blue
Flower strewn pathways all our lives though
God hath not promised sun on without rain
Joy without sorrow, peace without pain.

But God hath promised, strength for the day
Rest for the labour, light for the way
Grace for the trials, help from above.
Unfailing sympathy, un-dying love.

God hath not promised we shall not know
Toil and temptation, trouble and woe
He hath not told us we shall not bear
Many a burden, many a care.

God hath not promised smooth road and wide
Snuff easy travel, needing no guide
Never a mountain rocky and steep
Never a river forbid and deep.

Why will God not promise such. He would not for the following reasons
  • There is sin in the world
  • Presence of busy enemy
  • Man’s ignorance and weaknesses
  • God’s school is n the wilderness.

There Is Sin In The World
Our atmosphere is charged with lots of activities, practices, and culture. Concepts of the world accommodate sins, and where sins are, there is infliction of sorrow, calamity, problem and troubles – “the wages of sin is death”.

In justice, cruelty and abomination of all sorts are not wanting in the world. The world is full of struggling and fighting. Ungodly desires and evil ambition of selfish and wicked men will definitely crop up troubles “The earth is given into the hand of the wicked. He covereth the faces of the judges thereof, if not where and who is he?” Job 9:24
This is peculiarity of the world.
This is the more reason why we must pray for our society. “In the world ye shall have tribulation” John 16:33

    Presence Of Busy Enemy
God has not promised there will not be interruption and restless ripples across the boundaries of life, because of busy enemy- The pendulum of woe, whose restless activities keep throwing stones of sin into the sea of life of all and sundry. Devil actions will affect believers directly or indirectly but God uses all situations to accomplish His will.

Well, if men are less conscious that there is a battle to fight, he is well conscious that he must inflict someone; He is the accuser of brethren. When he appeared before God and was asked ‘whence cometh thou’ this was his reply “From going to and fro in the earth and walking up and down” Job 1:7 pendulum of trouble. He dashes fleetly at any opportunity to cause mishap.

He afflicts sons and daughters of God with infirmities. He sows tare in the field of wheat at the careless moment. He possesses, obsesses and oppresses. He has ministry of restlessness in the world; he is the pendulum of woe in the world.

    Indebted To Devil
Just like a fastened clamp to a piece of wood which is to be worked on in the workshop, so clasped will Devil hold on to as many that are indebted to him. The price worth an eternal value, so expensive than the labour of man. It is a great crime to sin against God. Whosoever corridors he finds his luggage, be sure to see devil feeding and dinning there.
He that commiteth sin is of the devil 1John:3:8 supported by the scripture.

    Man’s Ignorance And Weakness.
God knew that we are devoid of knowledge in some spiritual and physical matters.Little things we know in life, quite strange to the happenings of the spiritual realm. Most time devil hire our ignorance against us.By our weaknesses, he enters into, afflict us seriously until we run into trouble, we do not seems to learn or show interest in God. Until we fail, we are most of the time full of ourselves. Our folly so much blind fold us that we trust it for wisdom for this we suffer seriously. The day you begin to learn wisdom, you give devil bitter dose, until then, he will not change his tactics of attack.

God’s School Is In The Wilderness

God sometimes permit some interruptions. He has not promised we will see life without problems, challenges, responsibilities some tasking situations because we must learn, experience and discover some certain things. Problems always precede solution, invention and discovery.

There are two major ways we learn and experience some lessons in life.
    (1) Learning from other people’s experiences.
    (2) Learning from one’s experiences

The experience of some people in their ordeals and solutions could be a source of inspiration by which we can learn from their mistakes, failures and successes. This method of learning from our personal experience may be because of lack of information about those who had had similar experiences. Although this means may not be so good, if costly mistake is made which may result to death, except if permitted by God. Such may not leave to learn but others learn from them. Though most people love to learn from their experiences, the fact is that in some cases most men will die for others to learn from their mistakes.

A question was once asked an old man “Who indeed is a wise man” He replied the one who learns from others failure, and success, he avoids what made him a failure and embraces with appropriate modification what made him a success? Life ordeals have always been good teachers, there are great treasure in it “Sorrow is better than laughter for by sadness of the countenance the heart is made better Eccl.7:3.

If Israel had not passed through wilderness, they would not have known the full strength of the God of Abraham. How He could part the red sea, and open the gate of water in the rock there were many revelations in the wilderness, that is the school in the wilderness.

    Dreams And Actualisation.

The difference (Gap or space) between your dream/vision and actualising is what is called “Experience”. And you cannot have that, except you have been up there and down there. If you are going to be a good counsellor, you must have experience to consult, if not yours, then you must have the knowledge, from others pains. It is what you have in the reservoir that you make use of. Your experience is the savings you can always bounce on when counselling. You can as well acquire experience from others. We do not need to learn every thing by our selves.

But God has not promised there will not be some interruption across our ways. Promises abound that while in such, he will get us out. And be sure, no one regrets when God is in the situation except the devil. Get Him along in your journey then you are safe in the troubles of life.

I was blessed in reading this, and you wrote the truth. It is lenghty, therefore some may not read it in its entirety, though that really should not be a deterrent. It might would have helped draw a reader audience if it had been broken up into two submissions, as I noticed there may be at least two topics here. But, you wrote it the way you felt led, and it is very good, and I thank you for submitting it for us to read. May God continue to bless you in your work for Him. Thomas
