High up in the sky, I see a little bird.
High up in the blue ocean sky I see a snow-white dove.
I see it flying free. I long to fly with it.
The world in which it lives is so peaceful, so clam.
The world that I live in happens to be cold.
The world around me is so unlike the things of nature.
My race, the humans, are so unlike the things of nature.
High up in the sky, I see the clouds drift on by.
High up in the blue ocean sky I see there white fluffiness dance in silent praise.
I see them fly. I want to dance with them.
The world in which they live and die is so unlike my own.
I look for calmness and I see havoc.
I look for peace and I see hate.
I look for happiness and I see sorrow.
I look for joy and I see sadness.
I look for love and never find it.
I look for you Lord and I cannot find you.
In hearts, in minds, in everyday life, I cannot find you.
In business, I do not see you.
In schools, no one heard your name.
In churches, your home, many do not look to you.
Where are you, Lord? Where are you?
High up in the sky, I see a bright sun.
I see the blue ocean sky, cleared and pure.
I see the light.
The sun shines down upon the earth.
It gives us light and gives us hope of a better tomorrow.
But how can tomorrow be better if youíre not in it.
But, Lord, I see the light.
Iíve been looking for you in the world.
But you know not this world of lust and sin.
Iíve been looking for you in the wrong places.
Iíve been indulging in those things which shouldnít be indulged in.
Thank you, Lord, for showing me your light.
I see you know.
