Once trials and defeat gripped my aching heart.
My pain and my sorrow was once off the chart.
Life’s ups and downs gripped and tormented my soul,
So I got on my knees and gave You all control.
I heard Your voice whisper in my ear to forgive.
I let go of my past and can now truly live.
Unforgiveness gave others power over me,
So I reclaimed that power, and now I can see.
I listen in stillness in our Secret Place,
Praying and seeking a glimpse of Your face.
I now give no thought to earthly things,
As I mount up and soar upon eagle’s wings.
I’ve awakened from sadness and greet a new dawn.
The pulse of love quickens, as to You I am drawn.
My heart once destroyed and made into stone
Is now filled with joy as I live for You alone.
In reckless abandon, as did David before,
I dance unashamed for Jesus, my Lord.
From the world, You have chosen to set me apart,
So I shout to the heavens,“How great Thou art!”

"Life’s ups and downs gripped and tormented my soul,
So I got on my knees and gave You all control" --- What a wonderful testimony. I know how you feel. That is exactly what I did. I read your profile, and I was thrilled that your life is wrapped around serving Jesus. He has you wrapped in His arms. Thanks for sharing. Thomas. www.dustonthebible.com
We're all touched differently by the same message. My favorite verse is, My heart once destroyed and made into stone is now filled with joy as I live for You alone. That line was for me. Thank you! Brenda
Dear Joyce... You make us want to shout with you! I love what you wrote here: "I listen in stillness in our Secret Place, Praying and seeking a glimpse of Your face." We know how special that Secret Place is, don't we? It is, indeed, a place where God's peace can fill us up and restore our souls. "Shout to the Heavens" is such a joyful verse and it gives our Lord such praise! Love, always. Peggy
Once we give Him control it makes us want to "Shout to the Heavens" doesn't it Joyce. He is truly worthy of all of our praises, and you do it SO well. Love you, Sharon
