There are thieves who try to steal our joy
As we fall victims to life's robbers.
Illness, age, poverty and stress
Attempt to grasp life's joy from us…
But God has a plan.
Illness can sap our energy and strength
And leave us feeling powerless to fight.
It may threaten to overtake us
As we struggle through our race, feeling beaten...
But God has a plan.
Age strives to weaken our minds and bodies
Telling us we have no more value.
It can leave our bones aching and our minds feeble
As it erases our memories of happiness…
But God has a plan.
Poverty threatens to overwhelm us
And cheat us of our real inheritance.
It strips us of our dignity and worth
And leaves us feeling alone…
But God has a plan.
Stress churns our emotions
And wears us down to exhaustion
Feeling like flimsy puppets
Being yanked by their strings.
But God has a plan.
God offers us something
To overcome illness, age, poverty and stress
And make them slip into the shadows
Until their impact fades away…
God has a plan called salvation.
God's plan will not succumb to robbers!
The strength, well-being, peace and eternal life
That come from Him cannot be taken away
Once Jesus is the focus of our lives…
God has a plan for our eternal prosperity.
God has a Son whom He sent to save us
And to walk with us THROUGH the valleys
And guide us safely to His Father
Where we will feel no more pain, stress or emptiness…
God has a plan for Eternal Life with Him.

Another timely poem, Peggy. We certainly do have robbers on every side threatening to still away our very life if we will let them. But God does have a plan, and what A PLAN. He gave us of His very own Son so that we may live through Him. I love you, Sharon
