Narrator: As you are all know, our theme is "In My Mother’s Garden." So – let’s all work together to get Mom’s garden in order.
Pause as the "Flower Girls" come in.
Narrator: Good thing we have lots of help, because there is lots to plant. What did you bring for our garden little Flower?
Flower 1: Peas
Narrator: Peas – good idea! How many rows of peas do you think we need?
Flower 1: Lots!
Narrator: Ok, we’ll plant 4 rows of P’s: Patience – Perseverance – Promptness – Preparation. I always love to have a lot of P’s – can’t have too many.
Flower 2: I’m Pink! I have a bunch of squash.
Narrator: Good thing you brought so many – because we always need Squash: Squash Criticism – Squash Gossip – Squash Indifference.
Flower 3: Do you need lettuce?
Narrator: We always need lettuce: Let us be true to our obligations – Let us be faithful to our duties – Let us be loyal and unselfish – Let us love one another.
Flower 4: No garden is complete without turnips.
Narrator: You’re right Flower – we do need turnips: Turn up for Church – Turn up with a smile – Turn up to help out.
Narrator: Oh good, Flower you remembered the beets.
Flower 5: I don’t have very many.
Narrator: That’s ok – we can use what you have to: Beet Pride – Beet Selfishness – Beet Anger.
Flower 5: I guess I did have enough.
Narrator: You certainly did. Our garden is looking good – but wait a minute, there is something wrong – there is something missing. Where is the other Flower?
Flower 6: I didn’t have anything to bring.
Narrator: Nothing?
Flower 6: (little whine) I don’t even have a basket – just an old water can.
Narrator: Oh but don’t you see Flower, some plant – some water, but it is God that gives the increase. (1 Corinthians 3:6)
