When a pastor prayed this, "Lord, forgive our falling shorts" (he
was referring to Rom. 3:23), a ripple of snickers went through the
congregation because of the way it sounded.
Where will technology take us in the next ten years? There is no
way of knowing. Look at how far we have come in the past ten
years. Today, all the technology is going digital, but will that be
obsolete in ten years?
With all of our advances, why can't they design a windshield
wiper that really works. Why can't they design an umbrella that
won't blow inside out? We've had significant progress in so
many areas, yet in man's sinfulness we have gone backward -- no
progress here.
In Romans 3:23 (nlt) we read, "For all have sinned; all fall short
of God's glorious standard." But it seems we are falling shorter
and shorter as each year goes by. Christianity has the answer to
this problem but it is increasingly ridiculed in the press, possibly
because of some of the excesses we see on TV. Let's do all we
can to restore credibility to our faith. Let's present a sane Christ
to the world.
