When I Sing
The music plays.
My knees feel like clay,
For they are all counting on me!
My heartís beating.
I begin pleading,
For the Lord, my God, to guide me!
Here comes my cue.
Oh, what do I do?
For Jesus can only help me!
Out comes a note,
Though squeaky and rote,
For my throat is dry. Mercy me!
I keep singing.
My notes start ringing,
For now I have more hope in me!
I start dancing!
Iím almost prancing,
For my King is now leading me!
The music slows,
And I am aglow,
For sheer joy is flowing in me!
Then comes applause,
And I give the cause,
For You, God, sang that song through me!
Theyíve moved along.
Now I sing our song,
For Jehovah who carried me!
