A Letter-Farm

I imagined I was in a lovely green field, a grassy path laid out in front of me,
and along one side was a large letter-board, stretching as far as the eye could see.

Then came down a gentle rain, but instead of raindrops hitting my face, letters of the alphabet started falling, landing on the ground every place.

I laughed to see them, what a funny thing, as I slid the looped letters over my arm, where on earth could I be?

Was this a letter-farm?

Then I knew what the letter-board was for, it was to make words of the letters that fell, to decide what kind of day I would have, I would find exactly what I would spell.

I ran and picked up a giant capital "J" and placed it on the board with a happy grin, and slid an "o" from my arm with a "y", for that was how my day was to begin!

The word "Joy" shone there, but I needed more, another word came to me,
and I found a shining silver "L" the beginning of a word, just waiting to be.

I slid a silvery "o" from my arm, and picked up a glowing "v"
and found another sparkling "e" to spell what always surrounds me.

My words "Joy" and "Love" stood so tall, their meaning to me shining bright,
and I knew that there were so many more, to be added to this wonderful sight.

I quickly found letters lying at my feet; "laughter" is what they spelled out,
the letters for "happiness' lay just beyond, upon the board they would go, without a doubt!

I spent all day running down that field, picking up letters to make words anew,
for all the things that went on the board, were the wonders I would share with you!

I looked back over the words I had chosen, and through all the letters I saw a vine, from it flowers bloomed in every color, around every word it had climbed.

Then I realized the vine was God's love, twined through every part of the day,
and the beautiful flowers were blossoms of God's grace, there to help along the way.

The sun came out and poured out its golden light, oh, I had to run and find you.
to share this beauty that God had given, hand in hand we just took in this lovely view.

Every day there is a new board, with letters falling like rain, and upon it we always get to choose, what will be that day's refrain.

And each evening when I look back over, the words that had that day come true, each word just seemed to be another way to spell out how very much I love you!!
