Traffic smoulders crumbles thought
Dissolves flesh exhausts my head
I flap about the traffic lights
A flag of convenience
Interrogated by headlamps
Grilled by skeletal grills
That smile and smile
And yet are made of plastic.
I lurch from post to pillar to post
Containing my outline
With much concentration and makeup
Thoughts in overspill
Awash with surplus quarks
Unnecessarily trapped
In a net of surfaces
That flash and vanish
I am turned turtle
I cannot breathe
I am a parody
Of an ersatz charade
That stalks in silhouette
The nothingness that
Floats within
YET
In my heart somewhere
There is a rock
I will live forever.
If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW
