I.
Draw me lower
Till I am submerged,
Slipping beneath
Your love's tide.
The cool liquid warms me,
Renewing my core's flame
With a brand from heaven.
Draw me to your side,
Tucked close, white-tipped
Feathers brushing my face.
Your shadow is a comfort
In the heat of the day.
Here I draw strength
To rise above the clouds,
Chasing startails
Underneath your moon.
II.
I don't want to build
Another castle, watch the
Grains be ripped by wind.
Soon it will be swept away.
I look to the sky
And find you standing
In front of me, where
My castle has fallen.
Only your love remains.
Wipe my tear with your fingertips.
Pull me close in your arms.
Your tides wash me clean,
And once again I am yours-
Achingly, completely yours.
III.
The song from the bottom
Of my arc is filled
With tones you wouldn't
Want to nestle in your bones-
Raw emotion curling
Up from the depth-
Only your hand can calm
These troubled flames,
Putting out each wick
With your holy touch-
Only you have replaced them
With new candles, gleaming
White pillars newly lit.
IV.
Nestle my restless soul
In the relentless beat
of your heart-
Only here will I calm,
Only here will I rest.
You have become a womb
To me. Tuck me inside
And rock me there-
That I might be birthed anew
Into your open hands.
V.
Up and up my soul cries
To a sky lit with
Candles that dance to
Your soul's song.
Up and up I send my tones,
Until you grab my hand,
Capture my face between
Your palms and stare into my depths.
"I am here," you whisper,
Shaking my core. "I am here."
