Today, first day of lent,
With ash upon my head,
I find my mind intent
Upon the words He said.
The ash will represent
That, (we have always read),
My elements are rent
Asunder when I'm dead.
And when my soul is sent
Out from its ashy bed,
To make what's "me" content,
My loving Lord I'll wed.
