Promises That Are True
Daily promises from God’s word
“And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them.” Romans 8:28 (NLT)
I recently discovered my life was like the waves of the sea. Just as the waves roll in and then they go back out, so it is with the circumstances in my life.
Sometimes the “waves” in life are wonderful: marriage, children, new cars, great vacations, times spent with family and friends, and a new puppy. On the other hand, some of the “waves” in life are terrible: sickness, death of loved ones, fights, divorce, job loss, and more.
We can find comfort when the bad waves roll into our lives by remembering a very wise saying I have heard a few times in my life. It is only four simple words, but they have helped me often during the crashing of “negative” waves. When these circumstances come into your life just remember “this too shall pass.” As the wise old Solomon said in Ecclesiastes there is a season for everything. Just as waves come in and then recede, as seasons come and go, your circumstance will also change. This is comforting during the trying times.
Another thing for certain, we know God is in control of the “waves” in our lives. He allows both the good and the bad; but every “wave” is used by Him to ultimately bring about good in our lives. So we can rejoice always and in all things, knowing God is in control, and the “waves” come and go, but God is always working for our good.
