Is it the colt He rode on that day?
Or the palm leaves they threw in His way?
Was it the humiliation and the beatings He took?
Perhaps the healing He did down by the brook?
Was it the cross He carried to Mount Calvary?
To bear our sins for all eternity!
Was it, “Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.”
Or was it paying the ultimate price for me and you?
Was it that He died, was buried, and rose again?
Perhaps the blood He shed to pay for all our sin?
Is it because God’s glory is shown all around?
With nature itself giving God glory with every sound?
So what is it you ask that makes me who I am?
I will say all of it, with every word, verse, and story.
For God’s Word is the greatest living truth…
For us to live by and give Him all the honor and glory!
