In Acts chapter 3 we read the account of a miracle performed through Peter and John the apostles, well known to you but worth reading again as it contains a promise for us all.
Allow me to reveal a few points for you...
•He was lame from his mothers womb and was carried daily to the temple (that's family love for you it never gives up)
•As his disability continued he gave up looking for a miracle and settled for second best, a life of being lifted and laid by others, a life dependent on the generosity of strangers.
•He became self centred, his only wish to make sufficient money to feed himself
•Religion didn’t help him; it walked past him daily thinking more of its traditions than those in need.
•Religious men and women were indifferent to his cries except when they needed their conscience cleaned.
•Change came in the guise of two strangers, Peter and John, his first reaction was ‘give me money’ his second one of surprise when they said ‘we have nothing to give you’
•A new beginning arrived on as he focused on the two apostles and not on his condition, a new beginning, a second chance came carried on the back of the name above all names, Jesus Christ who healed all who came to him and all that were brought to him.
•A hand touched him and helped him to his feet, he had to take this opportunity, he just had to make a choice to believe and to receive or else to stay put for the rest of his life.
•Moments later he leapt to his feet walking and leaping and praising God.
•He heard, he believed, he received and walked away from his old life, no more the cripple at the gate, not for him the begging bowl lifestyle of depending on others. No; he chose to step out of himself and walk away from his past life.
•In verse 16 we read these wonderful words, a promise to all who simply believe and act on Gods word,
•Peter speaking said; and His name 'JESUS' through faith in His name has made this man strong whom you see and know; yes the faith which is by him has given him this 'PERFECT SOUNDNESS' in the presence of you all.
My dear friend look again and again at this passage of Gods word for in it is your liberty and freedom to live a full life for Christ.
Your strength comes through faith in Christ’s name; perfect soundness comes through faith which Christ alone can impart to you.
Seek God my friend, seek him with all your heart for he is near those that diligently seek him, indeed he is a ‘rewarder of those who seek him with all their heart’
Faith in Christ will give you strength to do his will, to live walking in his will, to leap up to the starting line and to run the race set before you.
There is a high calling in your life, a calling, a destiny yet to be fulfilled, leave behind your own plans, your old lifestyle and run the race with patience for the high calling of God in Christ.
Come on my friend rise up on the inside like the crippled man when he heard of Christ, rise up on the inside for greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world...
Grow to greatness, grow in faith and grace for the Lord is calling you from sickness to health, from slavery to liberty and freedom, he is speaking to those who have given up, who have deferred hope left it aside and abandoned tomorrow as a lost cause.......
There is a time to die and it is not yet so don’t you dare lie down, don’t you dare give up for your God is bigger than the sum of all your fears.
