I was in the beginning
And ever shall abide
I'm that which brings you strength
And in whose fortress you can hide
I want to be your confidant
Your counselor and your friend
I need to be the one on whom
Your precious time you'll spend
I wish to be forever locked
And hidden in your heart,
Alive within your spirit,
From your lips never depart
I'm very sharp and powerful
I can cut into your soul
I can energize, revitalize,
Restore and make you whole
My words can be a mirror,
A fire, or a light
They'll keep your heart obedient
Keep it broken and contrite
I'll be the first to praise Him
And his wonders to applaud
I am the ever living
Never changing Word of God!
