"Let us pray son", a father told his son, then the father lurched into the prayers. The boy was initially in totally agreement with the Dad, but after a while he felt weary and tired as the Dad rambled on and on, praying for everyone in the world.
The boy started fidgeting, wondering, ‘When would this prayer end for me to get back to my games?’ Unfortunately, the father ignored is fidgeting, so the boy began to make some funny noises to draw the father’s attention. Soon, the father got the message and rounded up the prayers..
Then boy was so relieved, he burst out, laughing, ‘Oh Daddy, thank you for ending the prayers. God bless you. Oh, thanks! God bless you very, very much. I thought you were not going to end.'
That was his contribution to the prayer.
The father could not help but laugh at his son’s antics against long prayers.
So be sensitive when you pray, especially with young people who may be thinking of their dinner, games, gadgets or other passtimes. If you want to pray for long, you can ceratinly do it by yourself but don't force it on others who are not ready for it.
Do not say I did not warn you.
