Handling pain is terribly tough
Especially when it comes
Like a recurring decimal
Even the very thought of it is dismal
His Word, His Word again!
Never failing to convict and convince
Tells us what to do to handle our pain
It is expressed in one word: forgive
Scripture could be a blessing
But very often it poses a nuisance
When it gets in the way of our fleshly plan
Displaying a red light that says: Stop! Forgive
Terrible, tough, soothing, releasing
These depict the one antidote to pain
But the release comes only by doing it God’s way:
Forgiving
Many have met an untimely end
At the hands of Strife
Whose evil work ruins lives precious in God’s sight
Whenever someone refuses to forgive and forget
Are you going to be that person?
Think you’ll get away with it?
Would it really be worth it?
Think about it: do you have somebody you should forgive?
“Instead be kind and tender-hearted to one another, and forgive one another, as God has forgiven you through Christ”. (Ephesians 4:32)
