Have You Ever
Have You Ever…
Have you ever heard God speak?
A clear message to your heart,
Directed to what you seek
That orders the clouds to depart?
Have you prayed for many years?
For a dear loved one to repent,
Through trials that have brought you tears
Now you’re emotionally spent?
Have you sought with all your might?
To turn that loved one around,
Seeking solace in the night
Yet awoke with him still bound?
Have you strained to see some light?
In the darkness you’ve perceived
Seeing the on going fight?
For one who has been deceived?
Have you emphasized the good?
Affirming each little step,
And done all God has said you could
Holding him until you wept?
Have you ever asked the Lord?
For a reason or the cause,
While the ‘angry lion’ roars
And ‘evil ones’ give applause?
Well, I have been there my friend.
For many a year and more
Looking, hoping for an end,
And him to be restored.
Today as I’ve read His Word,
He asked for what I have prayed.
And this is that which I heard
And this is what He has bade.
“You have prayed within My will,
And therefore your prayers I’ve heard.
So therefore I will fulfill,
In accordance with My Word.
Ask no more my dearest child,
Begin thanking Me instead.
Blessings on him I have piled
You have nothing more to dread”.
