God’s gift of love to man,
Slain upon calvary’s tree;
Greater love hath no man
Than for another his life to give.
The very God of love
Was suspended between the skies and earth;
As our saviour closed His eyes in death,
Satan rejoiced at a score ‘made even’.
But God be praised
On the third day
He left an empty tomb
And hell’s captives were let loose.
Now in heaven
At God’s right hand
Our saviour prepares to return
To give every man his due reward.
What shall yours be?
What shall mine be?
Everything rests upon
What you do with His Gift of love.
