Seeing the World Through God’s Eyes
By Dan Blankenship
I went for a run today
Nothing out of the ordinary
I do it quite often really
But today I saw something new
Not so much the landscape
Or the reflections of morning dew
But I saw the world in a different way
And I hope you can see it too
I tried to view the world through God’s eyes
I know that’s hard to do
It takes intense concentration
And is quite a site to view
For somewhere along the way
Mankind went quite askew
And we walked away from a garden of perfection
From our given inheritance we withdrew
Yet this world contains glimpses
Of the world we still pursue
The home we used to know
Where the curse of sin cannot breakthrough
And where our Savior stands
The laces of eternal death His nail-scarred hands did undo
A tear ran down my face when I thought of such sacrifice
And the sky never looked so blue
Nor the grass so green
I notice the distractions seemed so few
And with my new eyes I began to see
Just how God has redeemed the world for you
And for me
