We who are possessed of God are inevitably called to a peculiar journey of the soul, the spirit, and ultimately of the body as well. We must be led to our roots in the ancient land of promise, to our identity as grafted-in branches, rooted to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and to our future as flaming servants of the One Who, in the Age to come, shall rule the entire cosmos from His chosen city, Jerusalem. Can you hear His shofar?

Come On Home

They say there’s a place, a place that was promised
It appears in your dreams from a time long ago
They say it’s a land of milk and honey
And your heart cannot rest; it keeps begging to go
Come on home; Somebody’s calling you
In that haunting voice so small and so still
City of peace; the vision has followed you
From time everlasting—and go you will

You know there’s a place, and you know Who made it
And you love the people who have gone on before
Safe in that land, the wayfarers gather
Where lone, weary souls must wander no more
Come on home; Somebody’s calling you
In that haunting voice so small and so still
City of peace; the vision has followed you
From time everlasting—and go you will

Bridge:
When you pass through the floods, they shall not drown you
Yahweh has bound you to His side
When you walk through the fire, the flames cannot burn you
Those Jordan waters are cool and wide

This is your land; though your eyes have not seen it
It weaves into your dreams from long, long ago
This is the time Elohim shall redeem it
And your heart cannot rest; it keeps pleading to go
Come on home; Somebody’s calling you
In that haunting voice so small and so still
City of peace; the vision has followed you
From time everlasting—and go you will
    Go you will…Go you will

Fantastic! I hear the shofar! God has promised to bring His children from the ends of the earth. If one doesn't hear the call, maybe they are not going. Just a thought. Beautiful work, Sherry. I hope to hear you play and sing in the streets of Jerusalem. Shalom!
