GRAND SLAM HOME RUN
When I was an 11-year old boy, my dad had scraped and graded our long driveway, and part of the adjoining field, bringing to the surface many pebbles and rocks. Anywhere from marble-sized to golf-ball sized. My imagination led me to mark off a baseball 'stadium.' Using a wood shaver to shape a handle, I made flat baseball bats. Standing in the batter's box, I would toss a stone vertically and the try to hit it with the flat bat. Spent literally hours hitting those stones: double to left field, triple to right field, single to centerfield. Home run up into the trees. It surely was fun!
It is clear to me that God Almighty has hit a grand slam home run: "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the RESURRECTION of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade---kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time." 1 Peter 1:3-5. Indeed, with the RESURRECTION, Almighty God hit a grand slam home run.

Leon, I was blessed in reading this. I, too, have hit a lot of those home runs with a homemade bat and a rock. There were no witnesses, so I could call any of them homeruns I wanted to. Thomas
