Just a Little Leaf
I am just a little leaf
There’s not much I can do,
Upon my tree depend I for life,
To strengthen and feed each day
When together with others,
Shade I may provide
Shade to refresh the weary laborer
Or the travelers on their way
When it rains I form a cup,
Collecting drops one by one
Sharing the cool clear liquid
Returning gratitude to my tree
When beneath the scorching sun
The tender fruit grows limp
My cover provides protection
Until the harvest time draws nigh
When my time on earth is done,
Painted with care by my Creator,
Beautiful colors I become
Displaying a deep rich canvas
I am just a little leaf
There’s not much I can do
But just being as my Creator designed
