Correspondence today with another believer, caused me to recall the verse in Ezekiel that portrays God looking for someone to build a wall, and then to stand in the gap on behalf of the land, so He would not destroy it.......but he found no one!

Are we that much different today? We may portray to our fellow brothers and sisters, that we are busy for Jesus; rushing around trying to 'look' heavily involved spiritually within the church or wherever we are working, but the question is....'Are we standing in the gap?'

Contributing to allsorts of projects might seem good, but it does not necessarily mean it's of God. It may look as though we are 'building a wall of super spirituality' and working very hard, but God is saying, 'Stop! You are NOT listening, not hearing my call for you to stand in the gap! You will not work to full capacity, unless you are yielding to me and in the right place. I have a 'gap' that I want you to stand in. No-one else will do, because it's especially for you.'

It may also be that what we are involved in feels really comfortable...........but just maybe, God is saying, 'I want you out the comfort zone!'

There are times when we lose touch of where God really wants us! We go off on tangents and bite off more than we can chew, and we do not hear His voice anymore. We have forgotten HOW to listen, and HOW to stand in that gap.

I pray that if and when He asks us to 'stand in the gap', we will be able to boldly say, 'Here I am Lord, send me!'

I believe that we in a season where God is wanting us to come back to a true state of repentance and to our 'first love' so that we can once again learn to commune with Him effectively, and being effective for Him!

Thank you for bringing this most important issue to mind. Ezekiel 22:30-So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and STAND IN THE GAP before Me on BEHALF OF THE LAND, that I SHOULD NOT DESTROY IT; but I found NO ONE. (31) Therefore I have poured out My indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of My WRATH; and I have recompensed their deeds on their own heads; says the Lord God. Well, after reading these Scriptures, I think that it would be safe to say, that GOD IS NOT HAPPY about THIS! (SMILE) Blessings, Sharon
