MY CALLING TO WRITE
Webster’s dictionary defines ‘calling’ as ‘a strong inner impulse or prompting toward a particular course of action’.
I believe that all true born again believers are called and commanded to proclaim the Gospel message ‘in season and out of season’ (2 Tim. 4:2) wherever we are in this unbelieving world. If we are truly following the Lord in His footsteps, then we must have and will have a burden and ministry to reach out to our lost family members, friends, those we associate with each day as well as countless numbers of others. It is my prayer that I might heed the Lord’s calling to serve Him in part by sharing the Good News of the Gospel through my written work.
God in His infinite wisdom offers His free gift of salvation to all who choose to reach out and accept it. Jesus said in John 14:6, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me’. He suffered and died on the cross in our place for all my sins and yours that through Him, we too might have eternal life. After three days, He arose from the dead victorious over death and the grave. He ascended into Heaven and is preparing a place for us. Jesus, that Name above all names, is soon to return for us and will rule and reign forever and ever. He will be King of Kings, Lord of Lords and of His Kingdom there will be no end. Praise God for His amazing grace!
In our uncertain world that seems to be in a downward spiral with all its trials, temptations and evil all around us, we need to know that God loves us and is in total control. When we truly accept Him into our heart and life, He will be our friend, our comforter, our guide, our Savior, our Lord and Master and our blessed hope for all eternity. That message must be heard and clearly understood by all, which is simply the reason I know that I have been called and led to write this article as well as many others.
Isaiah 55:11
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
Ezekiel 2:7
You shall speak My words to them, whether they hear or whether they refuse, for they are rebellious.
Ezekiel 2:5
As for them, whether they hear or whether they refuse – for they are a rebellious house – yet they will know that a prophet has been among them.
Romans 10:17
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.
If after writing a hundred articles and if I’m still around to study God’s Word and hold a pen, then as He leads me to do so, I’ll begin writing another hundred and continue to share them with all who are willing to read them.
Here am I Lord, use me as you will!

Try not to open with a "Webster's Dictionary" definition. That turns your reader off, especially in the first sentence. Work the definition in naturally as if you are making a statement.
Also, try to avoid starting a paragraph with "I believe". If you are writing it and not quoting someone else the reader will understand this is your belief.
You've got a lot going for you. God bless.
