"And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, and had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rahter grew worse, when she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched His agrment. For she said, 'If I may touch but His clothes, I shall be whole." Mark 5:25-28
This woman, we can imagine, had been dealing with this issue of blood for twelve long years. She was wearied from trying one doctor after another, each physician telling her, 'We've done all we can do." Still she continued spending good money after bad, trying not to give up, though everyone else had given up on her. Here is a woman who was considered unclean by others, being pushed aside as people turned their backs on her. Here is a woman who, after living in a hopeless situation for twelve years, held on to the dream that she would someday be healed.
This woman decided that she would continue to believe; she would continue to press and she would continue to dream the impossible dream. This woman is no different than many who have faced, or are facing, a hopeless situation; something that has been bleeding them to death for a long time. (It could be a dreadful relationship, a chronic illness, a financial burden, a treacherous job, etc) Many are suffering with, what seems to be, a lifelong struggle and fight. The answer is to believe that the deadly situation is coming to an end. The answer is to visualize the victory, the breakthrough, and the the testimony. The answer is to believe the impossible is possible through Christ Jesus.
This woman believed that if she could only touch the hem of Jesus' garment, she would be healed.
WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME you really came in contact with the Lord? I don't mean, WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME you went to church, or WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME you said your routine prayer in the morning. I am not asking WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME you sang in the choir or even taught a bible class. The question is, WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME you came in contact with the Lord. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME you fasted and prayed? WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME you praised Him and worshiped Him, while you were alone with Him? WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME you spent time seeking Him with your whole heart? WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME you spend time listening for His still small voice? WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME you called on Him; prayed all night to Him; put all of your faith in Him, surrendering everything to Him?
This woman was in a crowd with a multitude of people, but she was healed...She pressed her way; She expected a breakthrough and she received a breakthrough. Some came and only saw Jesus, because that is all they expected. Some only saw the multitude around Jesus, because that is all they came for. Some only socialized with others who were in the crowd, because they came to fellowship. But this woman came for an encounter. Out of all of the people there, this woman touched the Lord and received a miracle. There were many there, but not everyone experienced the power of Christ, because they did not all come expecting a blessing; they did not all come desiring to really come in contact with the Lord.
WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME you were really in contact with the Lord?
"And Jesus, immediatley knowing in Himself that virtue had gone out of Him, turned Him about in the press, and said, 'Who touched My clothes?
And His disciples said unto Him, 'Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, 'Who touched Me?'....
And He looked round about to see her that had done this thing.....
And He said unto her, 'Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague."
