Could rise to be most any man,
Could let sin rule my life.
Could chase the vices of the world,
Ignore God’s call to right.
Could be a drunkard or a thief,
Could be filled with lust.
Could build my house on sinking sand,
Hoard treasures that will rust.
Could have my life filled with hate,
Could cast a prideful look.
Could deceive all that I meet,
With all that rights forsook.
Could think I’m something that I’m not,
Could make my bed with greed.
Could be a murderer if not for God,
And falling on my knees.
The capabilities in my flesh,
Was present as a child.
I know the person I could be,
If it, were not for God.
