The youth are hard pressed on every side. If we can only taste the challenge the youth face; it would be beyond our imagination. Most believe that sex is the greatest issue. Surprisingly, it is not! Submitting to the Holy Spirit who guides you to serve our Daddy (God the Father), and the desire to follow the father of this world is the hard pressing or challenge the youth face today. Finding a connection to the Holy Spirit within is the key.
This challenge is personal for me because I struggled in this area as a teen as well. I did not have a mother or father. My journey of discovering this information was alone. For this reason, I must personally speak to the youth of our nation in this article. I would like to start by asking some questions.
How many of you as teens or youth know or understand about the spirit living within you? Some can actually take you to the scripture, and tell you what it says, but fail to refer it to their life. Some have experience the spirit in church service, youth conference or camp, but still do not understand what they are experiencing. This lack of knowledge of the power (the Holy Spirit) that lives within you creates a world distant from God. The bible states in Ephesians 2:2 (MSG), "You let the world, which doesn't know the first thing about living, tell you how to live. You filled your lungs with polluted unbelief, and then exhaled disobedience." Unbelief is very toxic! It leads you on path that appears to be fun, but eventually destroys your life. While serving in ministry, I encountered numerous challenges with teenage girls who strongly desired to commit suicide or inflict pain because their belief was polluted. The unbelieving was only for a moment, and during that moment destruction came upon them.
The battle that you are fighting (your purpose) has always been rightfully yours. In "the last days" and "the day of the Lord," according Acts 2:17 and Joel 2:28, God said, "I will pour out My spirit on all people, your sons and daughters will prophesy and young men will see visions." God has purposed you to prophesy and see visions. You have the power of vision and forecasting your future. You can create a future with a covenant filled with prosperity, peace, joy, love, true-friendships, excitement/fun, legacy, etc. You are able to release, replace, restore and rebuild the pain, hurt, abuse, abandonment, dysfunction, insecurities, poverty, lack of knowledge and any polluted unbelievable thing in your mind.
The spirit within you can enable you to accomplish your God given purpose. Connecting to the spirit is by way of knowing the love of Jesus Christ. You will never really understand His love until you admit to having a sinful nature. Admitting to doing the challenges you know that are not right. It’s easier to find fault in others, and be blind to our own faults by justifying that our heart is good. This thought process alone will lead you on the road the exhaled disobedience. You may think that my article is a bit harsh and insensitive. So are the tactics of the enemy. He is after your life with every deception he can convince you to believe. If you are walking in the spirit then this article isn’t for you, but if you know you are having challenges in this area then allow me to take you further.
Jesus submitted his will, love, and power! He made a decision to be about his Father business since the age of twelve. Luke 2:41-49 says Jesus was found as little boy “in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions. And all who heard Him were amazed at His understanding and His answers.” You have the same spirit living in you. You are identified through Jesus Christ. Do not allow anything or anyone stop you from receiving this. It’s a matter of life and death. Serving God or serving the father of this world! 1 Tim 4:12 says, “Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example (be stronger than them) for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.”
Most people with “beautiful feet” (Romans 10:15) speak about John 3:16 which is an amazing scripture take hold of it. The scripture that allowed me to embrace the love of Jesus was John 15:12-17. Jesus said, “This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this that one lay down his life for his friends. You are My friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you…”
Ask the Father in Jesus name for the impartation of the Holy Spirit this day so he may give it to you. Even though mama may not have chose you or daddy may have left or abused you, there is one who chose you. Jesus wants you! Begin your journey with Him on the road to your purpose.
