Satan's Last Stand

I'm not one who is fixated on biblical prophecies of "the end times",though I do believe we are living in the general time of Christ's return and indeed see correlation between today's news headlines and such prophecy. Normally, I prefer to concentrate on living in the here and the now, striving to reflect the gospel through my life.
Recently however, I've found it very interesting how Satan is doing everything he possibly can to discredit or refute God's Word in either the Holy Scriptures or the very being of His Son, (our Savior) Jesus Christ. Satan is using worldly men of this time to set the stage for his greatest deception, the coming of Antichrist.
In 2 Thessalonians chapter two, God's Holy Spirit speaks briefly of situations surrounding the second coming of Jesus and events of the endtimes. He tells us that around that general time, those who previously refused to accept the truth of the gospel will fall victim to a "powerful delusion" in order that they will easily believe the lie of the Antichrist and be damned. Further, in both the gospels of Matthew and Mark, we are told there will come a time of deception so intense that if it were possible, it conceivably could "…deceive even the very elect." (Christians) - (Matthew 24:24 and Mark 13:22).
For certain, over the past two thousand years Satan has launched numerous attacks upon the credibility of the Bible and it's teachings concerning Jesus Christ and His divinity. Recent books such as the "Da Vinci Code" and "The Jesus Papers", television documentaries such as "The Gospel of Judas" and Hollywood movies like "The Last Temptation of Christ" are prime examples of such attacks. They are satanically orchestrated to shake the faith of weak believers and dissuade potential converts from that all-important decision for Jesus Christ and eternal life. They are not just movies or stories, they are lies that attack the truth of God's message for man, the credibility of the gospel, and slander the very "name above every name" (Philippians 2:9-11),……the only way to heaven (Acts 4:12),….JESUS CHRIST. They are not innocent entertainment at all, rather an act of sin known as BLASPHEMY.
Real Christians know that Jesus Christ loves them and willingly suffered public humiliation, torture and death so that the debt of their sin was paid providing them with eternal life (John 3:16). Clearly knowing and understanding that fact, real Christians then love Jesus….their Savior, they cherish and revere His holy name and believe in Him without reservation. They DO NOT appreciate the foul slander and sin of blasphemy against the name and credibility of their Redeemer…..the only Son of God, and should refuse to in any way patronize such junk.
The harm of buying such written matter, or going to a production of this kind of garbage is that our money is then going to finance and further the kingdom of evil, encouraging the continuation of these anti-Christian attacks and working in opposition to the cause of Christ (Matthew 12:30). For Christians to read or view this idiocy sets a bad example for non-Christians (1 Corinthians 8:9-12), potentially leading them away from Christ and eternal salvation (1 Corinthians 10:32).
The authors and producers of such materials are themselves (knowingly or unknowingly) being led by Satan and manipulated by way of their own love of money (1 Timothy 6:10), simply because they do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. In their human arrogance they believe themselves to be wise, but the Bible declares: "For the wisdom of the world is foolishness in God's sight.",…." (1 Corinthians 3:19 - NIV)
I'm convinced we can expect these satanic devices to become more frequent and intense in the coming months, because Satan is the master deceiver, the "father of lies" (John 8:44) and he will be the power behind the coming Antichrist. God will allow Satan to "bring it on" and for those who are not firmly rooted in Jesus Christ it will mean damnation. I think we will see powerful, worldly evidence denying Christ and refuting the Bible become prevalent and prolific, but the real Christians will cling to the words of Habakkuk 2:4b "….the righteous will live by his faith." (NIV)
Yes, Satan is throwing in the kitchen sink. In the book of Revelation, Chapter 12 and verse 12b it says that the devil (Satan) "…. is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short." (NIV) He's going to use all the tricks in his arsenal to refute the Bible, discredit Jesus, disillusion Christians and damn unbelievers. The only defense against this deception is a resolute faith and a through knowledge of the entire Bible.
We must remember, Satan is a spiritual adversary we cannot defeat him through physical arguments or human logic. We can expect the godless ways and people of this world to produce much more such anti-Christian propaganda, because they belong to Satan, the prince of this world (John 16:11). For my Christian brothers and sisters, allow me to take a line from the late John Wayne…. "Hang on pilgrim…" we'll soon be going home.

Dennis, right on the money here: [The authors and producers of such materials are themselves (knowingly or unknowingly) being led by Satan and manipulated by way of their own love of money (1 Timothy 6:10), simply because they do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. In their human arrogance they believe themselves to be wise, but the Bible declares: "For the wisdom of the world is foolishness in God's sight.",…." (1 Corinthians 3:19 - NIV)] Very well put organized and presented. Dan
Yes, I do agree with you brother,......
Satan is a very real and evil enemy. After all, he walks about seeking whom he may devour. Watch and pray. Nice article.
